Agricultural Meadows
Meadows
ECOSYSTEMS > INLAND OREGON > MEADOWS

This type of meadow is the result of human interaction with the landscape. The fertile farmlands located in the valleys to the east of the Coast Range Mountains and Klamath Mountains are excellent places to see agricultural meadows, sometimes called fields, pastures or farmlands. Needless to say, these meadows support human-reared crops, often for the production of hay and grass seed.

If the agricultural meadow is no longer in use and native species have begun to grow there, it’s usually reclassified as a “transitional meadow."
