Welcome to the Oceanscape Network's Education Center. This area offers FREE tools and resources for formal and informal educators, homeschool parents and students from middle school though high school levels.
All resources are developed by the Oregon Coast Aquarium, often in cooperation with various experts from governmental, non-profit and private entities who are on the cutting-edge of scientific discovery and outdoor exploration. New resources are added on a regular basis, so we encourage you to sign up for our free enewsletter or check our Exploration Calendar for timely updates.
Developed jointly by the Oregon Coast Aquarium and the Lincoln County School District (Newport, Oregon), Coast Connections helps educators find the resources, professional development and field experiences they need. This developing program includes:
Educational Programs from the Oregon Coast Aquarium:
The Oregon Coast Aquarium creates memorable experiences for learners of all ages. Whether bringing your family for a visit or scheduling a field trip for your school, we have the experience you’re looking for. If you are unable to come to us, our outreach education programs will come to you! Aquarium programs and materials address Ocean Literacy Principles as well as national and Oregon science standards for learning.
Youth Volunteer Opportunities at the Oregon Coast Aquarium:
There's something for everyone! The Oregon Coast Aquarium provides year-round volunteer opportunities for youth and young adults interested in marine science, education, mass media and more. Our teen interpreter volunteers share their vast knowledge with Aquarium Guests while our Oceanscape Youth Correspondents work beyond the Aquarium's walls to explore the wonders of Oregon and beyond.
