Housing 35,000 artifacts and 10,000 images, the Tillamook County Pioneer Museum is one of the largest historical societies on the Oregon Coast. The four floors of exhibits span the history of local Native Americans, pioneers, trappers, farmers and developers. One floor houses a huge collection of taxidermic animals common to the Oregon Coast; and an expansive research library and gift shop can help you with resources for both school and personal projects. If you’re interested in those shipwrecked pirate legends, then the TCPM is a must-see as its exhibits include those strange inscribed rocks from Neahkahnie Mountain and examples of Spanish bees wax found washed up on nearby beaches. The museum is located at 2106 Second Street, Tillamook, Oregon. Related Features: Buried Treasure on Neahkahnie Mountain |
