Flat Floor Valleys
Valleys
ECOSYSTEMS > INLAND OREGON > VALLEYS

The most common type of valley in the world, most flat floor valleys (also known as flat bottom valleys) began their existence as either a river valley or glacial valley. Over time, rivers and streams spread across the valley, persistently eroding its edges while leveling out its bottom. The result is a flattened contour characterized by many slow-moving waterways.
