From taking a hike in a new place, participating in a citizen science project, or exploring a museum, aquarium or science center, these are practical and low cost ways you can explore one of the most beautiful places in Oregon. This January, grab your camera and winter storm watch from an Oregon Coast headland. During the winter months, the Oregon Coast can be the backdrop for some amazingly dramatic weather. Storm clouds surge in over the Pacific. The uplands and mountains are draped in mist. Everything glistens with moisture, ice... and sometimes even snow.
