REGIONS > CENTRAL OREGON COAST
Named after U.S. President Abraham Lincoln, this seaside community is located in northern Lincoln County, Oregon, on the Pacific Coast. Incorporated in 1965, present day Lincoln City unified the communities of Delake, Oceanlake, Taft, Cutler City and Nelscott into one entity. Its close proximity to a multitude of beaches, forests, riparian areas, estuaries and woodlands makes Lincoln City a prime tourist destination. The city's signature event is called Finders Keepers and involves finding handmade glass floats on the local beaches. The Oregon Coast Highway 101 runs through the center of town and connects it to Tillamook in the north and Newport to the south. Lincoln City also marks the approximate northern end of Oregon's Central Coast. The southern end of the town ends at Siletz Bay and the eastern edge is dominated by Devil's Lake. |
