One of the most popular parks in the Newport area, Beverly Beach offers camping, hiking, and beachcombing opportunities. The 135 acre state park is a combination of dense coastal forests, expansive beaches and teeming tide pools. Bisected by Spencer Creek, the park also affords visitors the opportunity to explore a lush riparian area. Sharp-eyed visitors may also find marine fossils lying on the beach or at the base of the seaside cliffs. It is legal to collect these as long as you do not dig them out of the ground or from the cliffs. Both RV facilities and rental yurts are available for those who want to stay overnight. If you're interested in day trips, there are plenty of opportunities in the nearby communities including visits to the Yaquina Head lighthouse, the Oregon Coast Aquarium, the Otter Rock Marine Reserve and the Hatfield Marine Science Center. |
